How to Clean Erasers

Erasers are items present in your pencil cases. It is used to erase your mistakes in writing or in drawings. It can come in different colors, sizes, shapes, softness and brands. Some of you find erasers as their savior especially for the artist who would want to make their works perfect. Erasers are made up with rubber, factis (a softener for rubber mixes), sulfur, fillers, quartz powder. The factis is the most important component of an eraser since it has the capability of adsorbing graphite. This makes it effective in erasing. Cleaning your eraser is important in order to correct your mistakes with no trace at all. But how do you properly clean your erasers? What are some ways on how you can clean your erasers without destroying it and preparing it for the next use? Cleaning your own eraser is easy and inexpensive. You do not need to buy a new one if it gets dirty, you just clean it with the following procedures.

Procedure 1

Materials needed:

  1. Grab a piece of sand paper.
  2. Rub it to the sand papers surface.
  3. Make sure to scrub all corners where there is evident dirt.
  4. Now it is ready for use. Good as new.
  5. You can repeat doing this procedure if you will see dirty build ups in your erasers.

Procedure 2

Materials needed:

  1. Place your eraser to your pocket jeans or shirt.
  2. Allow it to get cleaned in your washing machines.
  3. Voila! A new and cleaned eraser. Make sure to let it dry before you use it. Or else you will wet your paper or art work.
  4. You can repeat doing this procedure if you will see dirty build ups in your erasers.

Procedure 3

Materials needed:

  • Faucet
  • Liquid soap
  • Water
  • Eraser
  1. Place them in a running faucet.
  2. Get a pea size of liquid soap then wash and rub it thoroughly.
  3. Let it dry before you attempt to use it.
  4. You can repeat doing this procedure if you will see dirty build ups in your erasers.

Procedure 4

Materials needed:

  • Clean sheet of paper
  • Eraser
  1. Take a clean sheet of paper. You can utilize any back portion of paper as long as it is clean.
  2. Rub the eraser to areas or parts where dirt is very evident.
  3. Keep on rubbing until you notice that the eraser dirt has fall or loosen off.
  4. If you are certain that all dirty sides has been cleaned, you can return them to your clean pencil cases ready for the next erasing work.
  5. You can repeat doing this procedure if you will see dirty build ups in your erasers.

Procedure 5

Materials needed:

  1. Get a knife.
  2. Scrape the dirt using your knife.
  3. Be careful not to cut your hands.
  4. Once you are done scrapping the dirt from your eraser you can use it again.
  5. You can repeat doing this procedure if you will see dirty build ups in your erasers.
